How do I connect the KickTone Mic to the bass drum?

The front of the KickTone has a slide bracket that allows you to simply slide the microphone from top to bottom over a KickPort®. For situations that don't allow for the use of a KickPort®, the bottom of the microphone has the ⅝″ 27 threads per inch (tpi) mic stand attachment. Best results achieved by using the KickPort® - Here is a video showing the KickTone being mounted on to the kick drum using a KickPort®. Mounting Video

In some situations, the vibration of the drum can make the KickPort or the KickTone itself spin. We have a quick tip that will prevent that from happening - Watch this video

Does the weight of the KickTone Mic on the Resonant head affect the sound or feel?

Yes, It will make a slight difference in sound because of the damping to the resonant head, you will notice a deeper tone from the drum. The Mic’s venting allows for the air to pass through the microphone without choking the air flow, so it won't feel different.
